This development process involves comprehensive international literature reviews, focus group discussions, and international advisory committee consultations to ensure the standards can be applied in the international environment. New standards are pilot tested at a variety of health care organizations around the globe, representing diverse sizes and facilities.

Accreditation Canada International accredits the following types of organizations:

  • Ambulatory care centres (diabetes, oncology, multiple specialties, rehabilitation, etc.)
  • Clinical laboratories
  • Health systems
