Accreditation Canada President and CEO Appointed to Saudi Minister of Health’s International Advisory Panel

OTTAWA, Canada — Dec. 7, 2011 — Accreditation Canada International, a world leader in health care quality improvement services, is proud to announce that Wendy Nicklin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Accreditation Canada, has been appointed as a member of the international advisory panel of the Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Rabeeah.

This appointment confirms our leadership as well as the leadership of our President and CEO,” said Dr. Peter Vaughan, Chair of the Board of Directors of Accreditation Canada. His Excellency Dr. Al Rabeeah was appointed Minister of Health in 2009 and previously held the position of Chief Executive Officer of National Guard Health Affairs, King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh. Dr. Al Rabeeah completed his internship at King Khalid University Hospital - an organization accredited in 2011 by Accreditation Canada International. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his residency at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton and his Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at IWK Hospital for Children in Halifax.

Wendy Nicklin became President and Chief Executive Officer of Accreditation Canada in 2004. She is the chair of the International Accreditation Program Council of the International Society of Quality in Health Care (ISQua). Prior to joining Accreditation Canada, Mrs. Nicklin was the Vice President of Nursing, Allied Health, Clinical Programs and Patient Safety at The Ottawa Hospital. Over the course of her career, she has been active on a number of provincial and national boards such as the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Studies and the Canadian Patient Safety Institute.
