Dar Al Shifa Hospital (Accredited 2007)

Kuwait

I write these few lines to thank you and your colleagues at Accreditation Canada International for this great experience. As a working group, we started from a difficult position, with many concerns related to the process of accreditation. At first, everything seemed very complicated and distant, probably because we were not familiar with the language in which the standards were described, and also because they covered the areas where as a team we were most vulnerable. Slowly but surely, we continued working, with a growing passion; the self-assessment has become an activity that generates lively discussions. Basically, what initially seemed a task "imposed" has become an important way to review and rethink our work, the emergence of critical areas, and also the positive aspects, of which we were possibly not even aware. We have highlighted a number of actions for improvement, some of which have already been initiated and partly finished. We are aware that much remains to be done, but certainly today we are no longer worried, but engaged.

Azienda ULSS 7 (Accredited 2009 )

Pieve di Soligo, Italy

To be accredited shows the commitment of our organization to improving the services offered to our community in collaboration with our partner. The accreditation process contributed to raising the awareness of security, ethics and quality of care issues, and focused on population health needs.

Azienda ULSS 9 (Accredited 2007)

Treviso, Italy

“The process of accreditation encourages organizations to develop a management model that prioritizes results. Accreditation generates solutions born of multidisciplinary discussions and promotes continuous process improvement. Valuing participation in a patient safety program before anything else, reflects the extent to which our institution is committed to improving and maturing. This came about as a result of understanding that quality of care and patient safety go together. Much has changed since 2008 when we embraced the Canadian international accreditation program, especially regarding the institutional culture and awareness of standards and performance measures by all hospital staff. The work is ongoing and rewarding, because the return reflects on customer satisfaction and on the team.”

Hospital Quinta D’or (Accredited 2008)

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

“In H9J's experience, what really sets the Canadian model of international accreditation apart is the assessment of patient flow in a systemic way. The assessment traces the path taken by the patient during the process of care, thus ensuring greater integration between departments, improving continuity of care and patient safety.

Hospital 9 de Julho (Accredited 2010)

Sao Paulo

“The entire process of hospital accreditation is a great learning experience, and St. Catherine Hospital is proud to be part of Canadian international accreditation, pioneering the process in Brazil. Today, the hospital is better organized, and we understand the importance of teamwork in achieving quality and safe patient care. Every day we take new actions developed by accreditation teams. Our numbers show that these actions, coupled with further development and increased participation of all employees in the accreditation process, support the growth of the organization to continue to contribute to the Fellowship of Santa Catarina.
