Accreditation Canada has been forging the global accreditation landscape for half a century. According to ISQua, one third of the accreditation programs have taken their inspiration from Canada. Canada hosts a wealth of health care expertise and is recognized for its innovative solutions to global challenges.

We have helped numerous countries develop their capacity to manage and improve their own accreditation program, from legislative framework, to corporate governance, standards development, surveyor training and management. Accreditation Canada has lead projects in Latin America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Specifically, Accreditation Canada helps organizations:

• Institutional Development (twinning arrangement): development or improvement of organizational structure, processes, human resource and surveyor management, operations and policies. Accreditation Canada International assists also in preparation to ISQua surveys.
• Standards Development: selection and review of standards from various sources including Accreditation Canada, to identify the fundamental components necessary for the development of the national standards and accreditation process.
• Professional Development: capacity building through study visits and on-site training.
• Survey Design and Management: development of survey process, tools, procedures, and resources required; co-surveys are offered to support testing of the new survey design.
• Surveyor Training: support in recruitment and training of surveyors; development of customized education and certification programs to ensure adherence to national requirements.
• Self-assessment portal: secure online self-assessment and accreditation survey preparation tool, helps accreditors enhance the effectiveness of their accreditation programs and their clients' ability to develop and execute the action plans necessary for improving service quality.
• Surveyor software: secure software program that equips surveyors with necessary tools to conduct a survey, record evaluation process, provides access to standards and survey-related information, and generates reports.
